As an animal rescue organization with a limited-admission shelter and super small staff, our volunteers are critical to saving lives. When you invest your time with FAPS, you give homeless animals in our community a chance at life and love.
FAPS Volunteer General Requirements:

Age Requirement: Volunteers must be 16 years or older. *For volunteers ages 16-17, a parent or guardian must complete the application on your behalf and accompany you on your shelter tour.*

Minimum Hours: 4 hours (1 shift) per month

Scheduling: All shifts must be scheduled through the VicNet app/portal

Dress Code: Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty!

How to Become a FAPS Volunteer

Fill out the online volunteer application (if you’re 16-17, a parent or guardian must complete it and join you for your shelter tour).

Complete your virtual training! Once your submit your volunteer application you will receive a link to the training (six 2-3 minute videos) and brief assessment!

Schedule your shelter tour. After passing the online training, email Will at volunteer@fapspet.org to schedule your shelter tour and get set up in our VicNet volunteer management system.

Start Volunteering! Once your tour is complete, you can begin signing up for shifts and making a real difference in the lives of our animals!
